Area guide

Things to do in Juan-les-Pins and Antibes

Juan-les-Pins is one of the most loved spots on the French Riviera: fine sand, pine groves, a seafront that comes alive after dark, and a jazz festival that has been bringing the world's greatest musicians here since 1960. Together with Antibes, of which it is part, it forms a small area packed with beaches, history, Provençal markets and coastal paths. This guide gathers the places we recommend to guests of La Terrasse Bleue, with real distances from the apartment.

The beaches

The coast changes character every few minutes on foot: fine sand and well-equipped beach clubs in Juan-les-Pins, quieter coves towards Cap d'Antibes.

Plage du Centre

2 minutes on foot
The main beach of Juan-les-Pins: fine sand and shallow water at the shoreline, the easiest option with children. A mix of free stretches and clubs with sunbeds and a restaurant.

Port Gallice

8 minutes on foot
Quieter even in high season, right by the marina. Ideal for a quick late-afternoon swim.

Plage du Ponteil

15 minutes
A wide, wind-sheltered beach in Antibes with a shaded lawn behind it: good for a full day out.

Plage de la Salis

20 minutes
One of the finest around, looking towards the ramparts of old Antibes and the Fort Carré.

Plage de la Garoupe

25 minutes
On Cap d'Antibes, with clear, sheltered water. Public beach and exclusive beach clubs sit side by side; you can also walk there along the coastal path.

Antibes and the Cap

The old town of Antibes

Medieval lanes, small shops and the Marché Provençal on Cours Masséna, open most mornings: cheese, olives, flowers, socca. The best way to start the day.

Picasso Museum

Housed in the seafront Château Grimaldi, where Picasso worked in 1946. A small but intense collection in one of the most beautiful buildings on the Riviera.

Sentier du Littoral

The path that loops around Cap d'Antibes between rocks, hidden villas and inlets: about two hours of walking, with views that are worth the trip on their own. Closed shoes recommended.

Port Vauban and Fort Carré

One of the largest marinas in the Mediterranean, watched over by a 16th-century star fort. Best at sunset.

Jazz à Juan

Every July the Pinède Gould, a few minutes from the apartment, hosts the Jazz à Juan festival: since 1960 Ray Charles, Miles Davis and Ella Fitzgerald have all played here. During those weeks the town fills with free concerts, evening markets and venues open late. If you are thinking of coming then, book well in advance.

Day trips

Cannes

15 minutes by train
La Croisette, the Palais des Festivals, the boutiques and the Forville market. Boats to the Lérins Islands leave from here.

Promenade des Anglais, the old town, the flower market on Cours Saleya and the Matisse museum in Cimiez.

Saint-Paul-de-Vence

40 minutes by car
A fortified village of art galleries and stone lanes, with the Fondation Maeght just outside the walls.

Grasse

45 minutes by car
The world capital of perfume: tours of the historic houses and workshops where you can compose your own fragrance.

Getting around

On foot

Beach, restaurants, shops and the station are all within ten to fifteen minutes of the apartment: for daily life you do not need a car.

By train

Juan-les-Pins station is on the coastal line: Antibes one stop away, Cannes 15 minutes, Nice 30. The easiest way to make day trips, with no parking worries.

By plane

Nice Côte d'Azur airport is about 25-30 minutes away by car, with bus and train connections.

By car

Useful for the hinterland (Grasse, Saint-Paul-de-Vence, the hill villages). The apartment includes a private covered parking space — a real advantage in summer, when parking in the centre becomes difficult.

Your base on the Riviera

La Terrasse Bleue is an apartment with a private terrace two minutes from the beach in Juan-les-Pins: two bedrooms, up to four guests, covered parking included.
